Ninety-Five, a typographic documentary

We don’t just shoot and edit videos to make a living, we shoot them because it’s what we enjoy doing.

Ninety-five is a short documentary about my 95 year old Nan who lives on her own. She lives approximately 300 miles away so it’s not often that I get the chance to go down and see her. I wanted to make a video that gives a glimpse into her life and how she copes on her own.

Rather than taking on a traditional documentary format, the video puts a unique spin on the use of subtitles. Motion tracking and compositing techniques are used to give the impression that the subtitles themselves are dotted around her house. Have a look!
